Injury Assessment and Exercise Rehabilitation

Move Better.  Recover Stronger.  Stay Injury Free.

At Active Return, we specialise in the assessment, diagnosis and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries. Our approach goes beyond simply treating symptoms—we identify the underlying causes of pain and dysfunction, then use evidence-informed rehabilitation to help you return to sport, work and everyday activities with confidence.

As a BASRaT-registered Sport Rehabilitator, I have specialist training in musculoskeletal assessment, biomechanics, exercise rehabilitation and return-to-performance planning. This allows me to focus not only on reducing pain, but also restoring strength, movement quality, resilience and long-term function.

Whether you're dealing with a sports injury, workplace injury, post-operative recovery or persistent pain, every rehabilitation plan is tailored to your individual goals and the specific demands of your sport, job or lifestyle.

What Makes Active Return Different?

We Focus on the Cause, Not Just the Symptoms

Pain is often the result of underlying movement, strength, mobility or workload issues. We assess how your body moves and functions to identify the factors contributing to your injury, allowing rehabilitation to target the root cause rather than providing only short-term relief.

Specialists in Biomechanics & Exercise Rehabilitation

Exercise rehabilitation is at the heart of everything we do. Our expertise lies in understanding movement, loading, strength development and tissue adaptation to help your body recover and perform at its best.

Specialising in Return to Sport and Return to Work

Recovery isn't complete until you're able to confidently return to the activities that matter to you.

We assess the specific physical demands of:

  • Running and field sports

  • Strength training and gym activities

  • Manual handling occupations

  • Construction and trade work

  • Healthcare and caring professions

  • Office-based work

Your rehabilitation programme is designed around the movements, loads and physical demands you actually face every day.

Evidence Informed Treatment

Every assessment and rehabilitation plan is guided by current research, clinical reasoning and objective monitoring of your progress.

Education and Injury Prevention

Our goal is not to make you dependent on ongoing treatment. We want you to understand:

  • Why your injury occurred

  • What factors contributed to it

  • How to manage flare-ups

  • How to reduce the risk of future injuries

  • By the end of rehabilitation, you should feel confident managing your body independently.
